ジャド・フェア＆ノーマン・ブレイク（ティーンエイジ・ファンクラブ）との共作『ハウ・メニー・グラスゴー』も話題のさやと植野隆司によるデュオ、テニスコーツ。縦横無尽、ノンストップに国内外を駆け巡る彼らの活動は、近年に入り作品／ライヴともに比類ないほどの充実ぶり。

当初「7e.p. presents 7solo」のテーマに沿ってさやのソロとして発注された企画は、いつしか相方植野も巻き込み、かねてより交流の深いスコットランドのコンポーザー／マルチ・プレイヤー、ビル・ウェルズ（Bill Wells）の作品集として結実しました。

先述のジャド・フェア、ノーマン・ブレイクはじめ、パステルズ、パスタカス、テープ等々これまでも数多くのアーティストとのコラボレート作品を発表してきたテニスコーツですが、一人のコンポーザーの作品集となるとこれが初めての試み。

アルバムの中核を占めるのはウェルズの楽譜集『The Loasthsome real book』からの選曲で、そのうちのいくつかはビル・ウェルズ＆マヘル・シャラル・ハシュ・バズのコラボ作で耳馴染みの方も多いやも。

ガットギター、メロディカ、クラリネット、シンセ、ピアノ、うた（柴田聡子もゲスト参加）によるドラムレスの繊細なアンサンブルで、ロバート・ワイアットにも通じるようなウェルズ作品の優雅でどこかノスタルジックなメロディを美しく描き出した、作者ビル・ウェルズ自身も大絶賛のまさに万人にオススメしたい逸品。
